I believe that cinema is like life. It has two aspects, bitter and sweet. As a cinematographer, I have tried to capture both. Filmmaking in cinema is ruthless. You have to position yourself in a place that the audience may not like, or in a place where the viewer cannot be; this can create new and surprising meanings. In my opinion, cinema and cinematography can give new meaning to the world.

Farshad Mohammadi was born in Shiraz, Iran, in 1972. He completed his B.A.and M.A. in the major Cinema from the University of Art, Tehran, Iran, in 1994 and 1997, respectively. He has been teaching Cinematography and Lighting at the University of Art since 2016. Farshad has received a number of awards from different Iran’s cinema products, such as:
